Which do you find yourself doing the most?
Even though it's logically better to keep having new experiences, I find myself replaying stuff more than I buy/play new games ("new" as in new to you, not necessarily modern). Usually it's arcade or fighting games - quick play stuff - but I also tend to want to replay older, in-depth games more than I desire to try something new or buy the latest big game that everybody is raving about.
How about everybody else?

If I'm playing alone, I much prefer playing games I haven't played before, as I'd never get around to new games otherwise. Especially given I've barely played anything other than Breath of the Wild for 18 months now.
If it's multiplayer, then it's a mix of old favourites and games we/I haven't played before. I do love that I can pick up and play a game I maybe haven't played for 10+ years but still remember the buttons etc. I seem to have lost that, because if I go a couple of weeks without playing BotW I've forgotten some buttons.

Mixture for me. Sometimes replaying, other times going new experiences.
Many games, are far too good to only once. Just like a good movie.

Mostly I play new, but I do go back to some 8 bit classics to replay, particularly Spectrum games. And Ridge Racer.

Mostly playing at the moment, though a few years ago it was probably a 50/50 split. Right now though there are just too many good new (and 'new' to me) games to keep up with.
I do hope to continue replaying games in the future, I don't collect games for collection's sake, if I own a game it's because I intend to play it and/or replay it at some point.

Me too but over the past couple of years, I wonder if I've reached the stage where I own more games I haven't played than games I have. Sometimes that's FOMO and not wanting to pay ridiculous prices in the future. I even open some of the limited run stuff and devalue it immediately, like Horace, which I still haven't played.

I've just spent the last hour replaying a game I've beaten many times. Ghostbusters on the C64. Sometimes I just want to relax with an old favourite.

Yeah FOMO is definitely responsible for a lot of my modern backlog. It would be nice to just buy a game at the moment you intend to play it but it can go either way, sometimes the price is lower than launch RRP, but also sometimes way higher making a purchase difficult to justify. So often I buy a game at launch if I think there's a chance it will become rare and/or expensive in future. The dilemma I've run into with some games that have gone up in price is that now I may have a sealed copy I'm reluctant to open and devalue. I guess I can look out for a cheaper used copy and sell my sealed one for a small profit but I'm not sure it's a hassle I can be bothered with unless it's a big price difference.
