Grim Fandango Remastered for <£3 in the Switch e-shop.
The Curse of Monkey Island was one of my favourite games back in the day, but I never got around to playing Grim Fandango.

Grim Fandango is good, well worth a play. It's got an interesting vibe to it and as always with a Lucasarts game the characters stand out, Manny is great.

Got a couple of modern releases of some older games for the Switch for Christmas:
Tales Of Symphonia, and The Klonoa Collection.

I've had this installed on ym tablet for a few years now. Should really get round to trying it. Think I had the physical copy on disc years ago too.

Is this meant to be any good on the Switch? I had the PS3 port but never bothered with it once I found out how rubbish the frame rate was versus the Gamecube original (how they made it WORSE all those years later, I don't know...).
Also, is it just the original or does it come with Dawn of the New World as well? Must admit I didn't realise ToS was on the Switch.

Not tried it myself yet but the game was a said to be buggy mess when it first released on Switch. However it has apparently been patched and is supposed to be much improved. I believe it is still only 30fps as opposed to the Gamecube's 60ps, so there is a trade off between frame rate and resolution. The Switch version has wide-screen too. The Switch version doesn't come with DOTNW, but it does come with a steel book case and some stickers and art cards, so might have some collection value. Was only around £19 new from Amazon last time I looked. I don't think it's any improvement over the PS3 version which it's probably based on, but at least there is the hand held option. I already have the NTSC Gamecube version but it's nice to have the convenience of the Switch version now also. Just have to find time to actually play it, haha.

Might give it a miss then. I still have the Gamecube copy I got on original launch so would prefer something more on-par to double-dip.

Yeah I only ended up with it as someone asked if there was a Switch game I wanted for Christmas, and I didn't want them to spend too much so I asked for that. It's a game I'd quite like on Switch but as I also own on Gamecube it was hard to justify buying myself.

I've downloaded a game for the Switch! It's great news as I've not really done anything to do with gaming properly for some time... Yes, it's The Monty Mole Collection Holy Moly!!!!!! I'd forgotten how bloody hard Monty on the Run was

I'd forgotten how bloody hard Monty on the Run was LOL i think i managed to go to about 5 different screens on that game, after losing about a million lives. No wonder old people are so vengeful and bitter, games like this have a lot to answer for.

Not sure how far into it the Sinclair C5 bit was, but got passed that. I'm going to keep trying! EDIT: I've got my youngest son involved. He's the 'Old games were easier' type of modern gamer... He now realises He has finished VVVVVVV and a load of other retro style games, so he says he's going to keep working on MOTR. I fear he'll put me to shame fairly soon.
