So I thought it would be nice to have a Thread in which to post peoples latest Retro purchases be they big or small feel free to share them. To get the ball rolling I will say my latest one, Today I got a complete copy of Rocky for GameCube in good condition for £3. I had this game when it came out and might still have that copy somewhere but thought this was a good price for it, and my Autistic nature makes me enjoy buying games so why the heck not lol

I never had a manual for Eternal Darkness on the Gamecube, and I finally bought one to complete that.
If 3DS counts, I bought Samus Returns and Stella Glow (both new) thanks to the Nintendo reprints.
If retro-style games count, I also bought the Super Rare Games release of Horace on the Switch.
Edit: crikey, that's £150 spent on games this month, including Xenoblade Chronicles 3. It's more than I realised.

Yeah I would count 3DS Now, I dont have Samus Returns or Stella Glow they have always been loads when I looked, I do have Samus Returns on my hacked 2DS and found it pretty darn good. Yeah Some months I can spend that on gaming and not realise.

Thanks to that, second hand prices have dropped too.

Yesterday I downloaded Pokemon Red Version from the 3DS eshop before it disappears next year and have been addicted to it all over again. There is something about the original music and sprites that the shiny new Pokemons can't beat. Takes some getting used to though i.e. remembering that Steel/Dark types didn't exist, some moves had different attributes back then (Gust is normal instead of flying for example) and certain types weren't super-effective against others and vice versa.
I already have Silver and Crystal on my 3DS so I MIGHT get Yellow as well (since it's different enough to Red/Blue and I never actually played it) but I will DEFINITELY be getting the Trading Card Game as that was one I hammered when it was new.
On a more expensive note, I also picked up a complete, nice condition copy of Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes for Gamecube. Stupidly sold mine years ago (when it was worth a lot less!!) so nice to add it back to my GC collection.

Very very nice, thats a cube game I dont have, just never found it at a point im willing to pay. Once Nintendo shut the store id go all homebrew with the 3DS, I have hacked 3 out of 4 of my members of the 3ds Family.

I went to my first bootsale in ages today and there was a lady selling PS3 and PS4 games for 50p each!
I'd just finished saying to my wife that there's not much gaming stuff any longer at boots because sellers generally know how much they can get at online auctions. Or so they used to keep saying. I was gobsmacked when the lady said the price. I only bought PS4 Uncharted Collection and PS3 F1 2011 as someone had got there before me and cleaned her out of the decent titles. They left 6 or so Fifa and UFC PS4 titles and some PS3 golf and footy games. Still a good deal for a pound, though.
We were quickly brought back to reality when we saw another guy selling an original PS1, one pad and 5 games, which were unboxed and dirty, for 'only' £70....

Uncharted collection for that price is ridiculous!

Nice! I had a used Wii that I wanted to mod not long ago but it was right grubby so I tried to open it up to clean it out. Unfortunately the pattern in one of the security screws shredded and became unusable. Somebody must have been at it before but I don't know why people have to overtighten screws so much... Got rid of it in the end so a Wii mod is still on the backburner.

I have considered modding and then selling a few of the bases like ready modded, but I also never got round to things lol

They are fantastic bits of kit when modded - had loads of emulators and game 'backups'. I took it to the Retro event in Sheffield run by Sscott and had it on a projector. At one point I had it running some rubbish racing game that hadn't been released yet in the UK, only to have Archer Maclean tap me on the shoulder and ask 'where did you get Wheelspin'? I made some rubbish up and he seemed to accept the reason!!! He then went on to show everyone how to play it He was ok at it, but it was still crap.

Wheelspin! Thats going back some. Pretty sure the final game disappeared into obscurity and it never gets mentioned now.

I used to take my modded Xbox original to work when I worked in a pub and put it on the big screen and start making it play arcade games and such, modded consoles are just such versatile tools.
