Does anyone have a Gizmondo? I bought two of them when Argos were flogging em off at £60 as a curiosity and never really did a lot with them although one of them did have a rare Sat nav cart with it . Just looked at prices on Ebay and they seem to sell for stupid money dead or alive .
Anyone else have one? or collect?

What games did you play on yours,OT?
I vaguely remember having not much more than a passing interest in the Gizmondo. It looked like an kids toy in my mind.
Did it have decent titles?

Never owned or ever seen one in the flesh but I'm sure I remember some of the multiplatform gaming mags from the time hyping the Giz to be a genuine new mainstream handheld contender that would take on Nintendo and Sony.
Must admit that I wasn't surprised at all when it suffered a relative stillbirth and faded into obscurity.

I watched an incredible YT doc about the Gizmondo last night. The backstory about the guy behind it is completely fking nuts!

The specs looked impressive at the time until I realized that it was basically a Pocket PC with tacked-on gaming controls. You can play most of the same games on one of those and a lot of them work better with the touch-screen and stylus too.
There was an attempt to do something very similar with the Palm Pilot at around the same time called the Tapwave Zodiac. It was similarly unsuccessful, although without the entertaining gangland backstory.

I was surprised by the smoothness and quality of the in game graphics shown in the video.

I remember shopping in London many years back, walking down Regents Street (I think!) and there was a Gizmondo shop there having a launch party. As much as I wanted to go in, the price immediately put me off, though I can't remember exactly how much it was....

C'mon Oldtimer, this is your thread. What games do you have on yours?
What's your experiences with it?
Have you connected it online?

C'mon Oldtimer, this is your thread. What games do you have on yours? What's your experiences with it? Have you connected it online? So sorry, i thought noone had commented on this thread and ive not been in for a while. I think i only had SSX3 and Richard Burns Rally plus the sat nav cart . I only bought the things as a curiosity and as they were so cheap at the time., not even sure where they are now ,probably in the loft id guess along with my other gameing gear. Never had it working online as far i remember , but the overall experience was it was well built and the graphics were pretty good for the time although the full retail price was stupid but i would def rate it above the Nokia N-Gage which looked similar.
