When clicking through instagram reels and on Twitter/X etc I keep getting ads for RetroPlay. It seems to be like some kind of firestick that you just plug into your TV. It says it has 10,000 retro games on it and comes with 2 wireless controllers and an HDMI cable.
It smells to good to be true. Anyone here got it?

I dont have one but I have seen similar devices, some seem to work OK as far as I can see.... sometimes the controllers are rubbish though.

Naah, they're just pirated ones. You can bet that, whenever something comes with that many, there'll be a load of duplicates and next to nothing will have been tested.
I doubt it offers anything that you couldn't do far better with a Raspberry Pi or a Chromecast. You'd just need to do some setting up with them and supply your own controllers and games. It might require a little more effort to do that, but I'm sure that the results would be worth it.

I've not heard great things about them. Might as well just go with a Firestick and run Android emulators, at least if the performance is a bit rubbish you can watch Netflix on it.
