I've been out of gaming for a very long time now and even the Quest has been hidden in the cupboard (one of my sons uses that though).
I stopped using the Quest because my PC was only just powerful enough to link to it - and I really enjoyed Half Life:Alyx, although in not very high settings.

Well, as I've just got the Quest 3, I've decided to beef up the PC so I can give all of the big games a good go.

Arriving over the next few days...

An RTX4070 graphics card, AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D CPU, 32GB Ram, a bloody expensive motherboard, new case, snazzy cooler and a Crucial P3 Plus 2TB M.2 PCIe SSD...

I feel I may be joining the gaming generation again! I can't wait to get my C64 emulator running on it

All for a princely sum of £1600 (not including the Quest 3)

That's about the same spec as the new PC I built earlier in the year, except that I went with AMD for the graphics, because Nvidia cards were silly with the pricing here at the time.

Vice runs at around 13000% speed if I go into warp mode. That's a bit beyond what my monitors can keep up with, even with Freesync.

There's a native Quest VR C64 emulator, you don't need the PC for that.

Oooooh! C64 in VR. I'm sure the Quest 3 can run that. I've not setup anything extra on it yet, so Sidequest etc is next up.

The Team Beef native ports of Doom 3 and Jedi Outcast are pretty awesome though, they've done great work. Prey looks promising.
