Anyone play it in the wild?
I remember playing it in the seaside arcade just over the border and being blown away by it. We had Virtua Racing in our local cinema foyer but it didn't have the allure of Daytona.
The amount of money we spent on it must've been crazy! Naturally I bought a Saturn as soon as it came out just for the chance to play the home version. Lol I didn't care that it looked like Lego vomit, I loved it.

I'm pretty sure they have a few machines connected to each other in the arcade on the trading estate near me. Will have to take the kids again to double-check!

They had it in the arcade on Aberdeen beachfront. All I remember is that it looked good, but I put my money in and it was Game Over in no time at all. I wasn't impressed. I much preferred Ridge Racer.

I have played Daytona in the arcades a fair few times in the wild... a few different cab styles and with various upgrades and such. I also did a review of the 2017 Version

Many of the local bowling alleys had Daytona, so I've played quite a bit of the game over the years. Really fun in 2 player mode.

Arcade always stood out as nothing else at the time was like it. Home versions didn't have the same appeal, but the style was of interest with stuff like that and the whole gambit of "virtua" named games.
Been a while though, wouldn't mind playing it again.

Only once. The standard knackered seat and broken manual shifter. Still great fun though. Definitely isn't the same at home but it was still great when they released the HD version a while back. Still have it on my PS3.

Use to have a Daytona cab at a local cinema my friends and I would frequent during college lunch breaks, though we were mostly into Tekken 3 at the time.
