I mostly emulate these days. I have a GPD:XD, RG350 and a Retroid Pocket 2+. This covers (mostly) everything I need for gaming on the go. This is also handier for me as I work away a lot so I've always got games to hand.
At home I still have a huge collection of PS1 and Saturn titles but don't use them much as I can run ISOs of them pretty easily on the above mentioned machines.
Of course, I still have the original hardware too, including a MODE enabled Saturn with 256gb sd card installed but for pure convenience I mostly emulate. Now and again I'll blow the dust off my Xbox, PS2 or Gamecube but these sessions are getting rarer.
Whats your preferred method, or do you stick to OG hardware?

The PC is still my preferred emulation system still. Used to have a GP32x but that died a long time ago Other than that, it's TheA500 and TheC64maxi. I need to try and get back into gaming more though!

I've slimmed my collection down significantly over the last few years. I kept a couple of Gamecubes, an OG Xbox, PS1, 2, 3 and 4 and 3 Saturns. Compared to my collecting days, this is a pitiful amount! The Switch is my favourite console in years, though.
I simply don't have the time to sit and play now, other than when I'm working away or on the road. Emulation has been a godsend as far as I'm concerned.
There seems to be tons of development of new emulators and handheld devices. It's incredible.

I prefer original hardware but do have a Rasberry Pi set up for retro gaming and a couple of emulators on my PC. I almost forgot - I bought a Wii for £20 last year and set that up as a retro gaming console (plus original GC and Wii discs), but I haven't used it for play yet!
I added some favourites to my SNES Mini to make those easier to play, along with a couple of translated Japanese-only games I'm still yet to play.

I added translated Japanese games to my SNES Mini as well, its a pretty great use for them. You can add software to a modded wii to make it play import discs as well, you can do some darn cool things with them.

I've got my old modded Wii in a big box of stuff in the loft. It's got loads of emulators on it! Really mist get it back down. Used to link up to a projector and play C64 games a super giant screen/wall!

I'm saving for an Ayn Odin handheld device.
It's capable of playing everything up to Gamecube, PS2 and Wii and everything before it.

Only reason I haven't looked at anything like that is because I like to stay sub £40 so I can throw it in my bag and not bother too much worrying about it. I went from an old battered DS in my bag to a 2DS and now I have the Pow Kiddy Q90 in my bag, its good for snes, megadrive, gba and mame..... they claim it does PS1 but not well enough for me to care about even with some tinkering.

I have a modded PSP, DS, PSP Go, OG XB then a JXD 7800, pi, GPD XD, PC and enjoy them all. Real hardware is great but an emu js so easy to just pick up and play (OG XB excepted . I have a C64 Mini with a fully loaded usb stick, and sd solutions on a Speccy 48k Beeb and C64. Looking to sort my PS1 classic and PS Vita and get my Gotek sorted on my Amiga. You can’t have enough emu options.

I'm very much enjoying the Retroid Pocket 2+. Great emulation for everything up to the PS1 is pretty much a given these days - ultra-cheap Powkiddy devices excepted, perhaps - but it also does PSP, DS, Dreamcast, Saturn and N64 very nicely. There's a good chunk of the GameCube library that's playable too if you don't mind lower graphical settings.
PS2 has been tantalizingly just out of reach up until now, at least for the flagship games, but there's a new version of AetherSX2 just out that should raise its game considerably. Mainly though, it's nice to have something that's pocket sized and not too expensive.
Tempted though I've been by the Odin all year, I think I'm going to pass on it. There are a bunch of attractively priced Windows handhelds due out later in the year that'll give access to a far better class of emulators than you can get on Android, plus I'd like a true replacement for my ageing GPD Win. I'd also consider a Steam Deck if Valve ever decide to start selling them in Australia.

The Retroid Pocket 2+ is my favourite piece of hardware right now. I'm currently playing through the Dreamcast library. Sega Rally 2 is still as impossible to get past the brutal time limits as ever.

I enjoy real games and emu options. I like a physical collection BUT, if I find a really nice option to go emu, I have sold the boxed games for the crazy money they are worth and continued enjoying the games themselves digitally.
I do still try to buy all Nintendo games physical as they are very likely to retain resale value or even go up depending on what they are.
My main issue, and I know we probably technically can't ask it here, has always been where to acquire games safely without screwing up my PC with viruses etc. I have all my PSP games running from the memory card via CFW and my PS2 collection on the HDD mod, but these are all games I have ripped from discs myself. A lad at work is always talking about the "sources" constantly getting compromised and having to change where he goes to find stuff.

I'd guess that if you ask a question and happen to get a PM with some answers..........................................
