I don't actually want a copy, but I just looked on ebay and saw that Outrun 2006 for the original Xbox is a £100+ used game!!!!
Now I know that C2C has always been worth more on Xbox vs PS2, and I know that the Xbox version has the LAN capabilities for events, but what the heck happened to the price on this? Jeez.

I was told Devils third on Wii U has hit the £65ish realm and apparently that rubbish walking dead game on wii u is selling for £100.... I know I have Devils third not sure about Walking Dead, I played it and it sucked and I may have sold it oooops or it may be hiding in some cupboard. You never know whats going to end up being a high ticket item now days.

Not a great game but it has a certain...something. I think it's the weird cutscenes and mad characters (like that kinky bird that can insta-kill you with pervy choking moves and neck-breakers).
I want to play it again now.

For me it'd be either the NES, or at least the abundance of clones that were sold here instead the official ones, i think those are really neat and a part of gaming history worth using or preserving, or a... New 3DS. Yeah I know the 3DS isn't retro per se, but at this point with the eShop closing, the end of production for physical games and other factors, it might as well be. It's 11 years old by now. The 3DS prices are through the roof, 200 euro/dollars for a pre modded one, which is bad. As for the clones, they're quite rare in here, and eBay does not always have them.

I assume that you're not based in the UK like most of us, then? Regular 3DS' are quite easy to get on ebay for £40-£60. XLs and special edition designs cost a bit more though.
Legit NES' are around £50-£60 unboxed and haven't shot up too high tbh. I remember buying a boxed/complete one for £30 well over a decade ago now and even those are around a £100 or so.

I'm not, I'm from Romania. Here they range from 150-250 euro, much more expensive than a Vita even. As for eBay, international shipping costs quite a substantial sum, and it's just not what I would use, because nobody here sells on eBay. As for the NESs, they were never officially sold, and instead we got Chinese and Taiwanese clones, most popular being the Terminator (yeah they made a console for Arnold Schwarzenegger )

Where do you get your old stuff from if ebay is not the place to go?
I have sold stuff to Romanian buyers on ebay before in the past but, yeah, the shipping costs can get horrendous. You have to send stuff tracked and insured (just because of the distance and number of countries it passes through on the way) and that bumps up the cost here.

Well, new stuff is either bought from Steam, PS store, eShop, Xbox store (even if Xbox services are not available here, damn you Microsoft) or just nearby electronics stores (only in the big cities though), or they're just pirated because here every single person has their Windows copy pirated. As for used, everyone uses OLX. It's a site based in the Netherlands and has multiple regional variants around the world, including places like India or Poland. Retro game stores are nonexistent, and the only places where I have seen used games are at exchange or pawn shops, where they don't go farther than the PS3 and 360 era, no Nintendo there. Back to OLX, it's basically the Swiss army knife of second hand stuff, and there is some really cool stuff at times. PSP, 360, PS4, even a few Nintendo consoles like DS, GameCube can be found. Unfortunately often times they replicate the prices from eBay, both the good and the bad ones like with the 3DS.
And Nintendo consoles aren't as common, because people here grew up with PCs or Xbox 360. Not even today. So yeah. It's possible to find good deals, but also bad ones, pretty often. Doesn't help that the retro gaming market is really small here.

I think a lot of copies of windows here are either the ones that come on machines or are pirated to be honest... Back when it was Windows XP I remember fixing computers for cash and easily 9 out of every 10 was a pirate.
Its really intresting to hear what its like for you games wise so thank you very much for filling us in.
