Digital games have existed long enough now that some of them can be considered retro, not only that but some are old enough to have been on sale for a long enough time for there publishers to have pulled them offline rendering them none accessible to anyone who doesn't already own them.
After Burner Climax has already been mentioned on this board by sephiroth81 as something he would like to grab but the digital version was delisted from both Xbox Live and PlayStation Store in December 2014, and was removed from mobile storefronts in May 2015.so now he cant get it (not legitimately at least) heck this is a game I would like to try.
Apparently around 1,000 digital-only games will disappear when Nintendo closes its 3DS and Wii U stores...
Have you missed out on any games due to this or are there any games that are about to be removed for good that you would urge everyone to run and get?

Still annoyed that I missed Marvel Vs Capcom 2 HD before it was pulled.
I did manage to get MVC Origins though (Marvel Superheroes and MVC1 arcade ports) and I believe that was also pulled ages ago.

I haven't played it yet, but Affordable Space Adventures seems a must-play for Wii U owners.
There are a few cool DS and 3DS digital-only games.

I am a big fan of Weapon Shop De Omase and that never got a physical release in english (I think it may have got a Japanese release). So that will be gone soon.

I used to play PANGYA Golf on PC with a load of RG members (and my brother). That was ace! It came out on the Wii at some point but it just wasn't the same.
There are still active sites running the game now though. Just a shame the official one went down.

I'm not one for keeping old consoles (I'm more than happy emulating old games) but my 360 has to stay because of this. My 360 is essentially there just to preserve After Burner Climax, Out Run 2 and a few of those Xbox Live Indie titles. Now most of that service was trash but there are some absolutely essential games that I refuse to lose forever. MotorHEAT is still the best 'in the zone' driving game ever, Re: Get to Schol on Time is absolute madness and I Made A Game With Zombies In it is great for the occasional playthrough. The thing is, I don't think I can even play that stuff on the later Xbox consoles can I? Like I imagine the backwards compat doesn't extend to any of these titles.

The Rebirth games on the Wii are something which I think its a shame were not ported elsewhere or banged on a disc as a collection
Castlevania: The Adventure ReBirth developed by M2, and released by Konami for the Wii in 2009 was a remake of the 1989 Game Boy title Castlevania: The Adventure
M2 also did a Gradius ReBirth and Contra ReBirth before this, not sure if there were any more but M2 Always do good stuff so its a shame these haven't popped up somewhere else.
I know I have the Castlevnia one on a Wii and im sure the others will be floating around online but its a crying shame there not legally and easily accessible.

I seem to recognise your voice so may have watched your videos or heard you elsewhere before.

I played Weapon Shop De Omase for about 12 hours straight once, I was waiting for a dentist to be available to rip out an impacted wisdom tooth the pain was worse than when id been hit by a car and had my ankle shoot through the skin, and bless this game it was enough to just about keep me from going crazy. It is rythem based but its also sort of a bit of a visual novel it is finding out what happens in the various characters lives that really keeps you going. I purchased it on my first 3DS but sort of ermmmm shuffled it onto my other machines. My voice has been around a lot I have made over 600 YouTube Videos and I have been on the podcast of several different video game forums... the two things I have done the most of is a series of Super Nintendo Reviews and Horror film Reviews that have like 100 videos.

The 3DS shop going means I probably wonβt bother picking one up, and I am going to miss out on a lot of Wii U stuff.
I understand it can take a lot of effort for companies to keep servers up for games with limited numbers of players, but it is still sad to see games disappear.

We were lucky to get an English language version of Weapon Shop De Omasse at all, as it was originally considered to be too niche a game to be worth translating. I'm glad they did though.
The rest of the Guild series are also worth a look. They're mostly the sort of wild, crazy inventive games that won't necessarily review well, but still build up cult followings because there's nothing quite like them. I found The Starship Damrey to be the most out there; you start out in the dark, without a clue as to what to do, and take it from there.

Until the Series X can promise me that I can download old games like this, I'm not interested.

I think I have two of the other Guild Series games, one is Attack of the Friday monsters or something.

The interactive stuff on the Wii homescreen was always mildly entertaining. Really disappointed when they shut that down as it didn't seem like it would've taken much for them to leave it active. One was just daily questions with stats, and the Mii competition channel too.
